Phosphate PBk7 pigment dispersion
AIC-Black 9003 is a Phosphate Series self-dispersed aqueous PBk7 pigment dispersion with 15 wt% pigment solids. It supplies the black colourant component for water-based inkjet ink development.
GRADE OVERVIEW
Build a black-ink trial around the intended print process, ink vehicle and substrate. Black 9003 gives formulators a PBk7 option within the Phosphate Series, with a model-specific particle-size report and matching technical documents to support the initial evaluation.
TECHNICAL PROFILE
Published product-level targets are listed below. The original particle-size report follows as a separate sample result.
| Property | Value or target |
|---|---|
| Nominal pigment solids | 15 wt% |
| Particle size D50 | ≤140 nm |
| Viscosity | ≤3 mPa·s |
| Electrical conductivity | ≤2,000 µS/cm |
| Surface tension | 40–80 mN/m |
| pH | 7.5–9.5 |
| Accelerated aging | 60 °C for 7 days |
| Surface tension, viscosity and conductivity changes after aging | ≤10% each |
Read the current model TDS for test-method references and data interpretation. Request the applicable batch COA for supply qualification.
SUPPLIED PARTICLE-SIZE REPORT
The model-specific report records the following percentile diameters, converted from micrometres to nanometres.
These percentile diameters describe the supplied report example. Use the measurement basis and current batch COA when agreeing acceptance criteria for your formulation.

FORMULATION & GRADE SELECTION
Record optical density and black tone on the intended substrate at the selected ink laydown. Read those observations alongside drying, rub resistance and the behaviour of the complete binder system.
The published evaluation routes are DTG, roll-to-roll textile, desktop pigment ink, corrugated digital printing and latex ink. Select the relevant route first, then check filtration, storage, circulation and jetting in the finished formulation.
Both Black 9003 and Black 0058 use PBk7. Black 9003 belongs to the Phosphate Series; Black 0058 belongs to the Carboxylic Series. Compare surface chemistry, the current technical data and formulation response when choosing between them.
